FABY // Nail Lacquers | Review + Swatches - CassandraMyee

You'll probably know by now that I love nail polishes, any brands, any colours, I just love experimenting and playing around with different colours and textures when it comes to my nails. When an email popped up in my inbox that was introducing this brand new to NZ nail polish line from FABY*, I was very keen to try some of them out!

FABY is an Italian brand that is newly released into the NZ market. They have a huge selection of colours, finishes and treatments for the nails with over 170 shades available and like OPI and Essie, they bring out new capsule collections often (there is even a whole collection for men, honestly, check it out here). The polishes are all cruelty free and are free of the 'Big 5' (which you can read more about here, but basically they are free of lots of nasty chemicals).

I was sent two shades, I Was Born Yesterday and Chili Potion both from their Classics range that has over 175 colours! You can see both of the shades on my nails below and I put them through the usual wear to see how they stood up. The application was great; the brush is wide which means you can basically coat the whole nail in one swipe and I found the formula to go on very smooth and opaque in just one swipe. As far as lasting goes, I got about four days wear before I started to get chipping and wear around the tip of the nails. By day five and six, they were about ready to come off. I was really pleased with how long they did last and it is slightly longer than some Essie and OPI I own.

Along with the two colours, I also was sent the Top Coat, which to be honest is no Seche Vite and it took a little too long to dry down completely. I don't think it helped prolong the wear any longer than when I didn't use the top coat, but it definitely added an amazing gloss and shine to the nails.

I WAS BORN YESTERDAY | This image shows two coats of the colour and one of the top coat. I probably could have got away with just the one coat of the colour as it was pretty much opaque. I love this shade; it's got summer written all over it!

CHILI POTION [with an Urban Outfitters glitter on top, but more on that in another post!] | This was seriously impressive, and the image above shows only one thin coat of the polish and it looked perfect on the nails! There was no streaks or anything! I can see this being my go-to red polish!

The FABY lacquers are available in selected salons in New Zealand, and for stockist information check out Pro Beauty.

Have you seen this nail brand before? What shade would you choose?
