LUST HAVE IT | Women's Beauty Box February '15 - Unboxing + Initial ThoughtsWednesday, March 25, 2015
Well it looks as though Lust Have It are finally getting their act together. with the February Women's Beauty Box* finally arriving late last week. If you read my combined mega post with my End of Month Review for December and Unboxing for January (see it here if not), you would have realised my frustration with the delays that LHI were having sending out the monthly boxes. But sure enough a week later this particular box turned up, so here is my thoughts on the items inside with the theme 'All About Makeup'.
ulta3 Lip Liner in Plum // [RRP $2.95 (1g)]
ulta3 has popped up a couple of times on CM, but I've only really tried their nail polishes and not a lot of their makeup. I've been lip liner obsessed over the past few months (as is the rest of the beauty world), so I was stoked to see this. On swatching it is very creamy (big thumbs up) and the colour is a gorgeous plum, with quite a deep brown undertone to it. I really look forward to using this.
Natural Glamour 2Glo Line Treatment Concealer in Medium // [RRP $27.95 (40ml)]
I always worry when they include things like concealers and foundations (see the disaster below) in these boxes because you don't get the chance to specify which shade you would like. This is purely designed for under the eye use, with the white end being a treatment, or primer, which says it will tighten and moisturise the eye area, and the concealer will help to cover redness and under eye circles with light reflecting particles. Sadly I got this in the shade Medium and would definitely have preferred the shade light, but I will try it out because I do like the sounds of the treatment side of things.
Natural Glamour Illuminating Foundation SPF 15 in Medium // [RRP $29.95 (40ml)]
Now this is a major let down, the colour I got was medium (other option was light), but can we just take a moment and look at how dark this is?! It also seems very grey-toned and obviously it is going to be WAY too dark from me, so I won't even get to use it. It sounds like it could be nice though and I love that the packaging is a squeezey tube, but with a pump at the end of it - more foundations need to be packaged like this!
Designer Brands Fine Liquid Eye Liner in Black // [RRP $8.99 (5ml)]
I've used a few things from DB and I think they're pretty good for the price, and this looks very promising. It has a good formula that seems to glide on smooth and densely black, with the tip being made up of very fine brush hairs.
Paula's Choice Skincare Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant // [RRP $12.00 (30ml) or $33.00 (118ml)]
Lena from Lena Talks Beauty raves about Paula's Choice products and I've always wanted to try some of the skincare out, this product in particular actually! This does what it says on the tin, it works as a liquid exfoliant to unclog and diminish enlarged pores, make skin more even and radiant and reduce redness, This is probably my favourite product from the box and it's not even makeup related!
I feel really mixed about the February All About Makeup box... sadly the concealer and foundation being in the wrong shades for me really lets it down, but at least the three other products are things I know I will definitely use. The overall value for this box is around $81.00, and you pay AUD $19.99 for it each month. If you are keen to try LHI out for yourself, you can use the code CASSMYEE for $5.00 off your first box.
