MOST LOVED | May '15Friday, May 29, 2015
May is almost over, so it's time to round up all of my favourite products from this month. There were a lot of new beauty discoveries this month, and I found myself really liking a lot of things! But for the sake of how long this post could have been, I've just picked a few of my Most Loved.
Stila The Natural Palette
Pretty much as soon as this arrived I knew I was really going to get on with it. I bought it from Urban Outfitters in a recent haul (see the Insta snap here) and it's been getting a lot of use this month. It includes six shadows, three matte, three shimmer, as well as a highlighter and bronzer. I'll have a post with swatches up soon, but the colours are beautiful and highly pigmented and the highlighter shade is gorgeous! It is also a great travel palette as it's slim and lightweight.
ColourPop Super Shock Cheek Blush in Holiday
In a massive haul I did (here, also with swatches) I had the hard decision of choosing just one shade of the recently released blushes to buy. I went in blind and didn't really look at swatches in depth, but I am so happy with the shade I bought. Holiday is a matte peachy, pink and I find that it blends onto the skin so well, and the cream to powder finish formula is spot on. Now I really need to get a couple more shades.
Maybelline ColorDrama Intense Velvet Lip Pencil in Pink So Chic
Although I have been absolutely loving this entire range from Maybelline, this particular shade has been getting a lot of use from me. It's a darker berry pink that wears for a solid few hours before needing to retouch (mainly just in the centre of the lips). These are highly pigmented, go on creamy and set down to matte finish that doesn't dry out the lips.
Maybelline Eye Studio Brow Drama Sculpting Brow Mascara in 260 Deep Brown
This was a recent purchase as part of a large haul from Drugstore.com in the US (have a read here). Sadly this isn't out in NZ yet, but I really hope it gets released soon because it is amazing! It's not heavily pigmented with product, but for setting the brows after filing them in, it's awesome. The wand grabs onto the brow hair and makes them look a lot fuller and also more natural, as well as giving a hint of extra colour. I've been using this every single day since I got it and I don't think I'll be stopping any time soon!
anatomicals The Buff Stuff Citrus Body Scrub*
I was recently sent this along with a 1kg dumbell attached to it (get it? Buff stuff?), and since the first sniff there was a lot of love happening. This smell amazing, very citrus-y as you might expect, and this has some awesome scrubbing power to it! I try and use this every couple of days to give my skin a deep clean and it's great for getting rid of fake tan residue too.
Daiso Detergent for Puff + Sponge
I've seen this pop up in FB groups I'm in and then Albertine from Lovely Rose Petal posted about it and I bought it right after that! It took a while to arrive (as do most eBay things), but this stuff is seriously magical. I was finding it hard to really get my Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge completely clean, but this has solved that completely. You pop a few squirts of this on a dry sponge and massage it in a bit, rinse it out under warm water and the makeup residue just disappears! It leaves my sponge looking brand new in a couple of seconds - you all need to try this stuff out!
I wanna know what products you loved during May! Have you used any of my Most Loved?
