COLOURPOP COSMETICS | Hello Kitty, Christmas Collection, Mini Sets - Haul + SwatchesWednesday, December 21, 2016
As you may have noticed on my blog, my Instagram, my Facebook, my Twitter, my Snapchat, I am a little Colourpop obsessed. I have a real love for the brand ever since they launched and they are probably one of the fastest growing beauty brands with a following that would rival those that have been around for years and years. The past few months they have been offering free international shipping for orders over $50 and have been launching all kinds of amazing products so I have been ordering a lot! This haul is the combination of two orders (don't judge me), but as a help to you all, I have got swatches and my thoughts on the items I have bought recently.
The lead image was my second order which just arrived late last week and this photo above is the more modest order I placed a couple of weeks ago. I really wanted to get some bits from the Christmas Collection and the super cute Hello Kitty range. They have now added more products to the range, which is not helping my self-control to make another order...
Super Shock Shadow in Koosh (Limited Edition) | USD $5.00
The Christmas range this year I absolutely love because it's not necessarily a typical 'Christmas' collection. The matte black packaging and frosted glass sets it apart from their normal line and they have a heap of new products as part of it. This is one of their shadows in the ultra metallic finish, described as an icy silver taupe. I like to take my finger and dab this in the centre of the lids to brighten and add a gorgeous metallic sheen to the lids. This is such a nice shade and is also included the value set 'Sweet' set for USD $13.00, which included Ultra Satin Lip in Wink, and Super Shock Shadows in Tinsel and Koosh.
Ultra Satin Lip in Wink (LE Christmas) + Ultra Satin Lip in Tiny Chum (LE Hello Kitty) | USD $6.00 each
The Ultra Matte Lips can be very drying and some find it really uncomfortable, so the Ultra Satin Lips are a great option as they give the longevity without overly drying. Wink is a stunning deep berry and reminds me a bit of Rimmel 107 which is one of my favourites. The Hello Kitty collection is incredibly cute, and features Hello Kitty decals all over the packaging, definitely a collection you want to get a few things from. Tiny Chum is the sort of colour I reach for all the time and this soft mauve doesn't disappoint. This also comes in the new Puroland Mini Set for USD $18.00 - the minis are such a good size and allows you to try more shades this way.
Now it's time to move onto my second haul, which was much larger and filled with lots of very exciting and gorgeous products!
Never Not Chillin Shadow Kit | USD $24.00 (on sale)
I was going back and forth on whether to get one of the amazing record sets from the Christmas collection and when they had the kit discounted to $24.00, I just ordered right away! It comes in the coolest box, with the 'record' containing the six limited edition individual shadows inside. These were originally only launched as the kit but are now available as singles for USD $5.00. The shades are all beautiful and it includes: Thirsty Girl (metallic, bronze with multi-dimensional glitter), Peekaboo (metallic, ivory with silver glitter), Desert (satin, warm brown), Fairfax (matte, black brown), Patchwork (Ultra glitter, turquoise duo chrome with glitters), and Babykins (metallic, burgundy with pink glitter). The quality on these are on par with the others and I love the mix of different finishes and the addition of the jewelled tones of Patchwork and Babykins. This set has sold out currently on the web, but they may bring it back (they have a habit of doing that), or you can buy what shades you like individually.
On A Whim Mini Ultra Satin Lip Set | USD $18.00
I love minis, and the Colourpop ones are super cute! This set contains all Ultra Satin Lips, and I actually already have Dopey in the full-size original packaging and love the shade so I am happy to have it in mini form too (perfect for the handbag!) The shades included are: Magic Wand (light nude), Mess Around (mid-tone grey beige), Stud (warm brown terracotta, limited edition to this set), TooLips (deepened plum brown), and Dopey (dusty mauve). All of these shades (bar Stud) are available in the normal packaging and in full size.
Hot To Trot Lippie To Go Set | USD $18.00
My love for minis continues with this amazing set which contains a mini Lippie Stix on one end and a mini Lippie Pencil on the other in corresponding shades. The size is about the same, just a fraction smaller than the Lippie Stix. All of these are available in full size but I think this set is such a convenient way to try them and travel with. The shades included are: Cookie (matte, true nude beige) + Skimpy Pencil (soft warm nude beige), Cami (Matte X, neutral mauve pink) + Bound Pencil (mid-tone nude pink), LBB (rich plum wine) + LBB Pencil (rich plum wine), Trust Me (Matte X, vivid true red) + Bossy Pencil (classic blue red), Chateau (Matte X, blackened red) + Dukes Pencil (dark blackberry). It's a great selection of shades, basically covering all that you could want and Cami and Bound are some of my most used shades from Colourpop anyway!
Super Shock Shadow in Cat Nap | USD $5.00
This shadow and Puppy Love (which I also own), are in collaboration with NKLA where all proceeds of the sale of these shadows get donated to the Best Friends Animal Society in LA - a great cause and they are such beautiful shades as well. Cat Nap is an icy rose gold with pink and silver glitter (swatch below) and I think it's such a gorgeous shade. Colourpop just always get the shades so on point!
Because I really like LE collections, I also bought this blush in my second order as I didn't want to miss out on it. It's a lot more of a brighter pink than I first thought it would be and is described as a matte finish bright cool-toned pink. I like these blushes as you can keep them, quite sheer on the skin by using a duo fibre brush or even a damp sponge to apply them.
I really love the formula of the Lippie Stix, particularly the matte and matte X finishes. Lady is a muted brick and Pillow Talk is a brown greige, which is so 90s but I really like it.
Brow Pencil in Dope Taupe | USD $5.00
I have just finished my other Brow Pencil in Bangin' Brunette and wanted to get another but in a different shade to see what would suit better. This is a lot lighter than I thought but gives a more natural look and would suit blondes to medium brown hair colours. I like the formula of these are they apply easily and creamy but you can blend it through with the spoolie on the other end.
And lastly, I was surprised to find a 'Sorry we're late' card and two mini Ultra Glossy Lips inside. I had received an email for the second order saying there had been delays and also saw on a Colourpop group I am in on Facebook that some people were receiving things like this as late gifts. It is certainly a nice touch and having not tried the Ultra Glossy Lip formula I am looking forward to giving them a go. I got the shades Weho (creamy beige) and Finder's Keepers (mid-tone mauve). The pigment of these glosses are really high and from just swatching I don't think they have much tackiness to them.
So there is my very last Colourpop haul of the year - in the past few months clearly I have been a bit obsessed which has not been helped by all the amazing deals and releases they have had. I have got another order on its way, but I won't be posting about that until next year, so stay tuned!
