ULTA3 | New Products - Lipsticks, Tanning + a Rainbow HighlighterWednesday, April 12, 2017
Affordable and cheap makeup has come a long way since the $2 shop days - nowadays there are so many different and trusted brands to chose from that stock a wide variety of beauty and makeup products that don't break the bank. Australian owned, ulta3 is one of those brands, originally launching with lipsticks and nail polishes (for under $5!), they have recently been expanding into more skincare and tanning products and also adding more into their makeup line. Here are some of the recent releases from ulta3... p.s. there's a rainbow highlighter that shouldn't be missed!
I had no idea that ulta3 were offering a range of tanning and body care products until I saw the press release and it will be part of their permanent range available now. There are four new additions (2 of which are above). First, they have the Oh So Sweet Exfoliating Sugar Scrub* (RRP $12.95) which contains vitamin E, and coconut and Jojoba oils with a mix of sugar granules. It comes in a plastic, resealable pouch (much easier than the ones that come in brown paper bags!) and helps to prep the skin so it will be left smooth so that your tan will last for longer. Exfoliating is one of my key beauty steps - use this with those exfoliating gloves and your skin will be so smooth!
The next products are the Oh So Tan Self-Tanning Dry Oil (RRP $19.95). I haven't tried this but this is more of the traditional self-tanner, used with a mitt (also available from ulta3 for $9.95). It's a green based tan, so it will go a really natural golden olive tone rather than an orange colour, and develops over 2-3 hours and lasts up to a week apparently. It has a trigger spray bottle as well which I can imagine would make it so easy to get an even coverage on the skin.
The final product pictured is the Oh So Tan Gradual Tanning Lotion* (RRP $14.95). If you are slightly dubious to try a full blown fake tan, a gradual tanner is the way to go. The first application is very light and then you can build on it over the next days following to get an even and natural looking glow. It's not as intense if you compare it to using a proper fake tan that develops within a couple of hours, but helps to maintain your existing tan.
The ulta3 Lipsticks* (NZD $6.00 / AUD $3.95) are super affordable and they come in a whole range of colours. They have recently launched some new matte lipstick shades, which build on their existing line of creme formulas that range from sheer to more opaque. The matte formula has great pigmentation as you can see in the swatches and they have a better lasting power. These do need touching up after a couple of hours, but for a matte lip, they feel comfortable on. At such an affordable price point you can try some different shades you may not have done otherwise.
I have saved the best til last with their limited edition Rainbow Highlighter* (RRP $7.95) - I mean, just look at this thing. Rainbows, holographic tones and unicorns are such a big trend in the beauty world at the moment (Tarte have just launched an entire collection based on those three things), so it's good to be able to get the same sort of product at a more affordable price point. I love the geometric and prismatic design on the powder, and as you can see from the swatch you do get a pretty good rainbow of shade. They can also be swirled together to create a custom shade too. If you use a fan brush, this helps to get more of the ROYGBIV colouring on the cheeks.
Would you rock a rainbow highlight? What do you make of these new releases?
