DESIGNER BRANDS | Rose Gold Brush Set + Brilliant Skin Palettes - CassandraMyee

I am sure you are well aware now of how much I love affordable makeup. If you didn't know that, well hi, my name is Cass and I love cheap makeup! Better yet, I love finding cheap makeup that is actually amazing! Let me introduce to you some new products from Designer Brands that you might wanna check out.

Designer Brands is Australian based but we have been able to buy it here in NZ for years at local pharmacies. I always remember seeing it around but I have never tried a lot from them. They have been around for 11 years and sell a wide range of affordable makeup that is vegan and cruelty-free.

First up are the new Brilliant Skin Duos, of which I have Bronze Glow* (bronzer + illuminator), and Rosy Glow* (blush + illuminator) both of which are NZD $17.99 and come in two shades of each. I really like the packaging on these and it feels a lot higher end than what you might expect, plus it has a really good mirror inside. My only issues with the compact itself is the button you push to open it is quite senstive so it can easily pop open (something to note if you have them in a travel makeup bag). Despite that minor flaw, the product inside these palettes is really impressive.

The powders are enriched with green tea, hyaluronic acid, vitamin C and aloe vera. They are quite powdery and kick off some powder in the pan, but on the skin they blend out nicely. The highlighter/illuminator in both of these options are gorgeous and they give the glow without the obvious glitter. The Blush duo is definitely my favourite at the moment, as the bronzer duo would be better suited for summer once I have a bit more colour to my skin.

Now on to the new set of tools to get the job done. In the first image, you can see the large flat brush which is the limited edition All In 1 Perfecting Brush* (NZD $17.99). It is designed to be used in a multitude of ways, such as for apply foundation, contour, blush and highlight in both cream and powders. This brush is pretty massive and I have seen similar brushes on the market from brands like Becca that look very similar. It's not something I would use for foundation, but for bronzing up the face quickly, and even around the neck and shoulders this is a good tool to have. Unfortunately, there has been a few bristles shed, but hopefully, that will be it for now. The bristles though are very soft and are synthetic so they wash up well.

Brush sets don't come cheap, but this Limited Edition Make Me Up 10-Piece Set* is only NZD $34.99 for a set of brushes to pretty much cover all of your makeup application needs. It comes in this super on trend 'millennial' pink brush roll, and the ferrules on each brush are all rose gold. Tick, tick, and tick! Each brush has its desired purpose clearly labelled on the handle, and unlike the All In 1 Perfecting Brush, I haven't experienced any shedding from these and the bristles are super soft.  There is also a smaller 7-Piece Set available for $29.99, but for the extra few dollars, you would be better off getting the 10-Piece. It would make the perfect gift for a beginner, or a long time makeup veteran.

All of these products and a whole bunch more have just launched in July at pharmacies across the country and in Australia. You can also shop online via. their NZ store here.

Have you used Designer Brands before? Is there anything you would recommend that I try out?
