THEBALM | Appétit Eyeshadow Palette - Review + Swatches

THEBALM | Appétit Eyeshadow Palette - Review + Swatches - CassandraMyee

If you haven't checked out the makeup range from theBalm, then you are seriously missing out. It's sort of like Benefit in a way, with the very enticing, and cute packaging, with theBalm's focus on the 1940s housewife vibes. I think it's really great brand, and a lot of their names are very punny (the palette, in fact, is full of cringey/amazing shade names). I have really only used their cheek products before (if you haven't tried the Mary Lou-Manizer then you are seriously missing out) and a couple of their eyeshadow palettes and overall the quality of them is super high. It was always a hard brand to get in NZ, but now they have stands in Life Pharmacy and Unichem pharmacies around the countries so you can easily get your hands on the products and also have a swatch/play with them.

Let me introduce you to one of their brand new palettes; theBalm Appétit Eyeshadow Palette*, that has such amazing packaging. As you can see when you open the palette it reveals the quote 'Eat Your Heart Out', with each of the shades as the background. This flap opens up to reveal the nine eyeshadow shades, with 3 mattes, and six shimmer/metallics.

The shades in this palette are so stunning and I love the variety of tones. They don't necessarily all work together, but I think for a small palette of nine shades, it's good to have a bit of variety. The shade names are also just so brilliant (and I realise as I am typing this up that I made a mistake with one of the shades - it should be Chris P. Bacon, not Brown... whoops!) Anyway, the overall quality is spot on, the only shade that lets the pigmentation down is the last one Alfred O'Pasta, but even then it isn't that bad! The three matte shades are good staple shades, with Mac Encheese making such a beautiful crease shade when paired with Tate R. Tots or Rocky Road-Icecream. They perform so well, much like their other eyeshadow palettes I have tried from the brand and as an eyeshadow palette hoarder, it's such a great one to have in my makeup collection.

You can purchase theBalm from Life Pharmacy and Unichem Pharmacies (RRP $89.99).
